Slate Digital FG-X Mastering Plugin Review » The Recording Revolution - made them great.Good songwriting and recording vibes to all the talented folks out there! That’s my 2 cents - circumstances and environment are still an influence on art. Midi and samples assist me a great deal in accomplishing that. But right now, I’m a solo singer songwriter - and I want to stay true to my artistic vision. I grew up jamming and playing (guitar) with some of Canada’s best drummers - so don’t get me wrong - I would love to have that vibe support my tunes. Right now, live drums would be both complex (in terms of scheduling sessions) and possibly expensive because I don’t have a drum room (or even a room large enough to house drums.)Īt least for now, drum samples and midi are allowing me to learn about how I want to produce and engineer my songs - and complete them!
I no longer play out in bands - and the only friend I stay in any kind of contact with who is a drummer does it full time as his living. I live in a small apartment in a mega city (Toronto) - and have recently embraced using various forms of drum programming within my songs. The most inspiring part for me personally was the discussion about drum samples - and Steven’s refreshing viewpoints. I really appreciated viewing and listening.
